City & Guilds 2382-15 17th Edition Wiring Regulations including amendment 3:2015

4 day course

This level will suit practicing electricians with specific qualifications, who need to update their certification to meet the latest edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. Alternatively, newly qualified electricians who need to gain this certificate. The course is intended to introduce the candidate to a working knowledge of the Wiring Regulations along with a brief overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations covering their statutory duties.

What are the course objectives and key benefits?

The course aims to provide the required knowledge and understanding of the 17th Edition electrical wiring regulations (BS7671:2008), updated January 2015, which are necessary for undertaking work on electrical installations.

How long is the course?

  • 4 Day course

What is the outcome of the course?

At the end of the course candidates will be aware of most of the requirements of the relevant British Standard. Most employers within the industry also require this qualification.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive a City & Guilds 2382-15 –17th edition of the Wiring Regulations certificate of competence and will also be able to carry out work in accordance with the scope of this course.

City & Guilds 2394 - 01 Initial and Fundamental Inspection and Testing Level 3

5 day course

This new testing and inspection qualification replaces and improves on the former 2391 that was previously available to electricians but has since been withdrawn. The qualification is ideal for qualified electricians wishing to update their knowledge and practical skills to professionally design and install or inspect and test electrical equipment.

5 day course

This qualification has been developed for practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before progressing to other qualifications. The course consists of theory and practice of the inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

City & Guilds 2394/95 Inspection & Testing Combined Level 3

5 day course

Combined Level 3 Awards in both Initial Verification of Electrical Installation & Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G - 2394-01 & C&G 2395-01).

This course is ideal for experienced electricians in initial verification of electrical installations
that regularly report on different types of existing installations or need refresher training
covering both single and three phase supplies.

2 day course

It is not necessary to have any previous experience or qualifications. This course is ideal for anyone looking to pursue a career or start a business in PAT testing. Additionally it is suitable for practising and qualified electricians.

There are no formal technical qualifications required to join this course; however a basic understanding of electrical principles would be a benefit. This course is designed for people to carry out the tests on portable appliances to make sure that they comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations.

Control Circuitry

2 day course

A predominantly practical course, ideal for maintenance engineers and Electricians looking to gain knowledge and skills in the field of industrial/panel electrics.

What does the course cover?

The 2 day control circuitry course covers aspects of both installation and fault finding as
follows:

  • Functional/Schematic diagrams
  • Wiring circuitry from diagrams
  • Fault finding techniques using both live and dead testing techniques
  • Basic circuit design principles
  • The types, modes of use and termination of relays and timers
  • The types and connections of limit switches
  • The connecting and testing of three phase motors
  • Using various test meters to facilitate fault finding, such as low resistance ohmmeters, insulation resistance testers and approved voltage indicators.

How am I assessed?

Candidates are practically assessed by their tutor throughout the 2 day course before being awarded their in-house competence certificate.
